Arts NSW Fellowships, Scholarships and Awards

The NSW Government, through Arts NSW, offers a number of fellowships, scholarships and awards each year to writers, artists and scholars living in New South Wales.

Australia Council for the Arts

The Australia Council for the Arts offers support and resources for the arts in Australia through its grants and awards program. Each funding program has a specific closing date and you need to check the Australia Council Grants Finder for these closing dates.

Australian Screen Production Incentive

The Australian Screen Production Incentive is the Australian Government’s primary mechanism of supporting film and television production.  It provides generous tax incentives for film, television and other screen production in Australia.

Contemporary Music Touring Program

The Contemporary Music Touring Program supports touring opportunities for Australian musicians, and increases audience access to live Australian contemporary music, particularly in rural and regional Australia.

Cultural Gifts Program

Since its establishment in 1978, over $530 million worth of items have been donated through the Cultural Gifts Program. They include visual and decorative arts, Indigenous arts and cultural artefacts, social history and scientific collections and archival material.

Festivals Australia

Festivals Australia is a Commonwealth Government grant which provides assistance to regional and community Australian festivals for quality cultural activities.

Film Tax incentives 10BA and 10B

The Producer Offset replaces the 10B and 10BA tax incentive schemes, which following a review were found to have limited effectiveness. No new applications for provisional certification for Division 10BA or for certification for Division 10B are being accepted.

GetReel Competition

GetReel asks young people aged 10-16 to use the power of advertising to positively influence others teenagers on the risks of drug use by designing a 30 second TV ad targeting drug use.

Macquarie Bank Foundation

The Macquarie Bank Foundation funds programs benefiting the communities in which Macquarie has a presence, in the areas of education, the arts, health care and research, welfare and the environment.

Max Kelly Medal

The Max Kelly Medal was established by the History Council of NSW to encourage students and other beginning historians in the writing of Australian history from original materials.

National Indigenous Cadetship Project (NICP)

The National Indigenous Cadetship Project (NICP) is aimed at improving the job prospects of Indigenous Australian students.

NSW Film and Television Office Assistance Programs

The NSW Film and Television Office (FTO) has a number of programs of assistance open to individual filmmakers or filmmaking teams to assist with project development, production investment or skills development.

NSW Writers Centre Prize

The NSW Writers' Centre offers an annual prize for the best self-published Australian book.  $500 is awarded to the winning entry for books published between 1 September 2 and 31 August of the year of competition.

Play Now Act Now Creative Competition

Play Now Act Now is a film, graphic design and writing competition for young people aged 16 to 25 in NSW.
