Australian Technology Showcase
The Australian Technology Showcase (ATS) aims to generate jobs, exports and investment for Australia by drawing international attention to innovative Australian technologies with commercial potential and significance for world markets. Membership of the ATS entitles the holder of the badged technology to use the ATS logo, to secure a listing on the ATS Web site and to participate in a broad ranging promotional and support programs.
Members of the ATS may also apply for access to other forms of Government assistance.
An Independent Expert Panel assesses applications for membership to the ATS using ten selection criteria. The ATS selection process deals only with whether the technology is suitable for promotion through the ATS, and does not consider the commercial or other expertise of the applicant.

Applying for membership of the ATS
Application for membership to the ATS is made by completion of the application form and lodging it with the relevant authority. No closing date has been set for the receipt of applications. However, early applications will receive maximum advantage of promotional opportunities.
The onus is on the applicant to provide sufficient information, relevant to each of the selection criteria, for the assessment panel to make a judgement. The applicant is also responsible for the accuracy of all information provided on the application form; the ATS Administrators will not investigate the accuracy of claims during the selection process. The ATS Administrators reserve the right to withdraw an applicant's membership to the ATS and access to support programs should any claims made by the applicant and its technology be considered by the ATS Administrators to be unsubstantiated or misleading.
Reports from Referees
The application form asks the applicant to provide contact details for two independent referees. Reports from referees are a vital part of the selection process, and care should be taken in choosing them, and in making sure they understand what is expected of them. The referees' consent must be obtained before nominating them on the application form.
An unsuccessful applicant may submit a revised application for the same technology, provided the revised application contains significant new information addressing the reasons for rejection.
Badging
Successful applicants sign an ATS Members’ Agreement so the technology is formally "badged" as part of the ATS and can use the ATS logo. The successful applicant will be offered access to various promotional and support programs offered by that state.
Presently, the basic costs of these programs are covered by government and through sponsorship. Some features of the program, such as the establishment of individual booth displays at trade exhibitions, may require the financial support of applicants. Participation in fee-paying features of the promotional program is optional. Some aspects of the program, eg grants for export assistance, may require the technology or the company to undergo further assessment.
